(11\/24\/2014)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Energy States are Flying High &#8211; Almost Like 1982?<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0The ongoing resurgence in the oil and gas industry is once again driving overall activity in the key energy-producing states. Our pic-of-the-week details the share of total state earnings\u00c2\u00a0derived from the oil and gas industry. Oklahoma currently leads the way\u00c2\u00a0with 12.7% of total state earnings derived from the sector. Remarkably, the massive\u00c2\u00a0state of Texas <!--more-->is second with 8.9% of state earnings from energy.\u00c2\u00a0To put this activity into perspective, the shares for Oklahoma and Texas in 1982 at the peak of the Oil Boom were 12.1% and 7.2%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Wyoming&#8217;s oil and gas share is third at 8.5%, but remains well below its\u00c2\u00a013.5% share from 1982. North Dakota is fourth at 6.8%\u00c2\u00a0-\u00c2\u00a0but maybe not as far\u00c2\u00a0above the 4.5% share it posted back in 1982 as you might have suspected.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5690\" src=\"https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124.png\" alt=\"potw_1_20141124\" width=\"700\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124.png 982w, https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124-300x196.png 300w, https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124-768x503.png 768w, https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124-200x131.png 200w, https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124-400x262.png 400w, https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124-600x393.png 600w, https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20141124-800x524.png 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Alaska&#8217;s 6.4% share is almost identical to its 1982 share of 6.5%.
