Shift in U.S. Crude Production Outlook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The U.S. Department of Energy&#8217;s latest adjustment to its U.S. crude oil outlook reflects the confounding set of conditions driving the oil markets.\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>Domestic oil production is now\u00c2\u00a0expected to <strong>fall steadily through\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><!--more--><strong>the first three quarters of 2016 and then <strong>move sideways throughout most of 2017 before recovering<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Production is expected to fall by nearly\u00c2\u00a01.5 million barrels per day<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0to only 8.25 million barrels per day in late 2017.\u00c2\u00a0 This is a roughly <strong>15% decline from\u00c2\u00a0the recent peak<\/strong> of 9.7 million barrels per day set in April 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20160204.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6055\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6055 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.regiontrack.com\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/potw_1_20160204.png\" alt=\"potw_1_20160204\" (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The current\u00c2\u00a0forecast also indicates that <strong>production in the second half of 2015 was revised upward<\/strong> by a substantial amount relative to the November forecast.<\/li>\n<li>Possibly the most important piece of information in the forecast is that <strong>the bottom has been pushed back by a full
